Hotel Plaza Havana - Getting there

The excellent location of hotel Plaza makes the hotel an attractive choice for budget conscious travelers. Within a short walk from the hotel you'll find Havana's main shopping street Calle Obispo, the Gran Teatro, China town, the Museum of Fine Arts and more.

Guests at Hotel Plaza are likely to arrive by international flight to Havana's Jose Marti International Airport. In case you arrive at one of the other Internationals airports in Cuba, consider taking a timesaving domestic flight to Cuba's fascinating capital.

As an alternative to taking a taxi upon arrival you can book a convenient hotel transfer* during the booking process of the hotel. In case you plan to tour the country or like to move around a lot in and around Havana, renting a car offers you an incredible amount of flexibility. Some of Cuba's most outstanding natural attractions like the Valley of Viñales or the eco-village Las Terrazas are easy to reach by car.

A relaxed way to see a lot of Havana is offered by the "hop on hop off" sightseeing bus. This open top bus tour takes you along various interesting parts of the city. From Hotel Plaza it takes just minutes to reach Havana's famous sea boulevard El Malecon and the major tourist sites in the colonial part of town. Here you find many restaurant, bars and terraces. Although the restaurants in Old Havana generally are decent to good, we recommend that you explore what the private restaurants or "paladars" have to offer. New paladars open up weekly; just ask around for the latest recommendation for the best food in town.

If you came to Cuba for some serious Salsa dancing, Casa de la Musica in Miramar should be on your shortlist of places to go. However, to enjoy live music, you don't have to jump in a taxi since in most old Havana bars you can enjoy a drink while listening to a group of talented musicians.

Havana organizes many cultural festivals that appeal to a wide variety of interest. Among them the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, the Habano Cuban Cigar Festival (Feb.-March), The International Ballet Festival of Havana (Oct.-Nov.) and the Havana Jazz festival (December).

The Havana Carnival (Augustus) draws thousands of Habaneros to the Malecon where Costumes, light, music and dance make for an interesting spectacle. We suggest you check exact dates in advance because they tend to slightly vary year by year.

When you're short on time, there are a wide selection of excursion to choose from based around themes such as architecture, history and nightlife.

*You can book a convenient collective or private transfer during the reservation process.
